| After completing high school in my native country of Nepal, I pursued my college education in Pune, India. I then received Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Master’s Degree in Physics from the Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu, Nepal. I then worked as a lecturer at TU, for two years. I was also involved in Occidental Public School (OPS), Kathmandu, Nepal since it's inception. I served in executive board and as a Head of the Department of Science and Mathematics in OPS for four years. In due course of teaching experience, I felt the need for better understating and broader knowledge of physics, which motivated me to continue study in physics. Subsequently, in 2002, I joined the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), Texas, USA. I received a Master’s Degree in Physics in 2005 and Ph D in Applied Physics in 2008 under the supervision of Professor J. Ping Liu at UTA. My current reseach focus is on synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles, nanorods and nanowires by bottom up and top down approaches and fabrication of exchange-coupled hard-soft nanocomposite permanent magnets. Study of various types of nanostructured magnetic materials has enriched my knowledge and experience in the area of nano-scale magnetism and nanotechnology, which has drawn the great attention around the world. The works I was involved in the development of advanced nanomaterials including magnetic nanoparticles and nanocomposites were reported in the PhysicsWorld and NanotecWeb for their significant contributions to the relevant research fields. I am exploring more in this field at UTA under my advisor, Professor J. Ping Liu.
